Ward Hooper grew up in North-Central Idaho and became interested in art at a very early age. He attended Boise State University under art scholarship where he earned a BFA in design and fine art. His design background includes working as a Senior Art Director and as Creative Director of his own company –Hooper Studios Inc. Ward has produced illustration and design work for Companies such as: Hewlett Packard, Micron Technology, Albertson's Inc, Smith Sport Optics, Nike etc.

Ward has created public art work for the City of Boise and McCall. He was awarded the Mayor's Excellence in the Arts Award in 2006 and has been voted Boise's Best Artist by the areas leading newspaper in a readers poll. Ward has been asked to speak on behalf of the arts in the Boise community on numerous occasions and has volunteered on many occasions to mentor childrens arts programs.

In Sept. of 2006 Ward partnered with a team of architects and landscape designers and was awarded a prestigious contract to redesign Julia Davis Park for the next century of use. Ward's logo design and artwork have been used on numerous auction and charity events throughout the community.

About Giclee prints

Ward hand draws and layers on tens of thousands of color strokes on an individual image. Each subject the sole creation of the artist. ward occasionally draws from historic or "retro" imagery to inspire each unique composition. Every print is printed,signed and hand inspected by the artist. All prints are numbered and generally kept to an edition no larger than 500. when AlP appears instead of a number, this is the first print from that edition that the artist has certified as being color correct and as close to the artists intent as possible. Each Giclee print is of the highest quality, printed on acid free paper using inks which are proven to be fade resistant up to 50 years. Ward does take on commissioned artwok and design work.
